Las Vegas Inmate Lookup, Police Report and Criminal Court Guide

Las Vegas arrests do not all go to the same jail or court. This guide helps you identify the correct detention center, locate current custody, check bail, find the Justice or District Court case, arrange visitation, send money safely, request an LVMPD arrest report and review Nevada record-sealing options.

Four local detention routes CCDC information: 702-671-3900 Bail collection available 24/7 for Justice Court matters Arrest does not equal conviction
Quick direction

Do Not Assume Every Las Vegas Arrest Goes to CCDC

Clark County Detention Center

Search current CCDC custody online or call 702-671-3900.

Las Vegas Detention Center

For City of Las Vegas custody, search the city portal or call 702-229-6444, option 3.

Justice Court criminal help

Criminal Division main line: 702-671-3201. Pretrial and bail: 702-671-3285.

Nevada Arrests.org is limited

Its current Nevada county coverage focuses on Washoe County, so use official Las Vegas-area jail searches first.

Someone Was Arrested in Las Vegas Today: Follow This Route

  1. Confirm the arresting agency and exact arrest location.
  2. Search CCDC and the City of Las Vegas Detention Center before assuming the person is missing.
  3. Check North Las Vegas or Henderson when the arrest happened in those cities.
  4. Call the detention center when booking is recent or the person was arrested as John or Jane Doe.
  5. Write down the inmate ID, Justice Court case number, charges, bail status and court location.
  6. Confirm every payment instruction through the jail or court before sending money.

Jurisdiction first

Which Las Vegas-Area Detention Center Should You Search?

The words “Las Vegas arrest” can describe several separate jurisdictions. Search the arresting agency’s detention system first.

Las Vegas-area jail and detention search routes
Possible custody location
Official search or contact
When to use it
What to check next
Clark County Detention Center
Many LVMPD and Clark County arrests, depending on the jurisdiction and charge.
Confirm inmate ID, Justice Court case number, bail, charges and current custody.
Las Vegas Detention Center
City of Las Vegas custody, including some arrests within city jurisdiction.
Search by name or inmate ID and ask whether transfer to CCDC is pending.
North Las Vegas Community Correctional Center
The arrest happened in North Las Vegas or the arresting agency is North Las Vegas Police.
Confirm custody, charge, court and whether the person moved to another facility.
Henderson Detention Center
The arrest occurred in Henderson or was made by Henderson Police.
Review booking date, charges, release information and bond amount.
Nevada Department of Corrections
The person has been sentenced to a Nevada state-prison term.
Confirm offender ID and facility. NDOC does not hold ordinary recent county detainees.
Federal custody
The case is federal or the person may be in federal detention.
Use the federal register number and check the federal court case separately.
Important jurisdiction tip: LVMPD’s own inmate-search guidance identifies four separate detention facilities in Las Vegas and the surrounding area. The arrest location and arresting agency matter more than the phrase “Las Vegas.”
Current county custody

How to Search Clark County Detention Center Inmates

The official CCDC search displays current in-custody information. It does not operate as a permanent archive of every earlier Clark County booking.

Open the official CCDC search Use the Clark County In-Custody Search.
Use only one search field Search by inmate name, inmate ID or Justice Court case number. The portal instructs users to enter only one input field.
Enter at least two surname letters Using more than two letters can narrow a long list. Remove punctuation and try a former or hyphenated surname if needed.
Open the likely record Compare the complete name, inmate ID, age, booking details, charges and Justice Court case number.
Save the inmate ID and case number These identifiers help with bail, deposits, phone accounts, visits, court research and custody notifications.
Call for current information Call 702-671-3900 when the online result is missing, unclear or time-sensitive. CCDC does not provide inmate information by email.
Who may not appear

People under 18 and people in protective custody are not displayed in the public search.

John or Jane Doe

A person booked without confirmed identity cannot post bail until properly identified through the fingerprint process.

Current custody only

A released or transferred person may disappear from the roster even though an older booking page remains online elsewhere.

Third-party verification

How to Use Nevada Arrests.org for a Las Vegas Search

Nevada Arrests.org is a third-party booking-discovery website. Its current Nevada county menu focuses on Washoe County, so it should not be treated as a complete Las Vegas or Clark County database.

Use it only as an initial clue
  1. Open Nevada Arrests.org.
  2. Search the surname or browse available recent bookings.
  3. Note the name, age, date, county, agency and listed charges.
  4. Do not assume Clark County coverage from the word “Nevada.”
  5. Use CCDC, the City jail, North Las Vegas or Henderson for current Las Vegas-area custody.
  6. Check the correct court for the case outcome.
Compare identity details
  • Complete name and aliases
  • Date of birth or age
  • Booking date
  • Arresting agency
  • Inmate or booking ID
  • Justice Court case number
  • Charge descriptions
  • Official court disposition
Do not rely on a name-only match: A booking page can remain visible after release, dismissal, acquittal or sealing. It may also refer to another person with a similar name.
Court routing

Find a Las Vegas Justice Court or District Court Criminal Case

Las Vegas criminal matters can move through different courts. Use the inmate record, citation, charging document or hearing notice to identify the correct court.

Find the court and case number Start with the inmate record, citation, bail paperwork or hearing notice.

Use Court Finder for the courtroom The District Court Finder can search calendars by party, case number, judge or attorney bar number.

Legal assistance

Find a Clark County Public Defender or Private Criminal Lawyer

Clark County Public Defender

The Public Defender represents qualifying people who cannot afford counsel in Clark County Justice Courts, the Eighth Judicial District Court and Nevada appellate proceedings. The office does not handle Clark County municipal-court cases.

State Bar of Nevada lawyer referral

The State Bar’s Lawyer Referral Service provides free referrals online or by phone. A referred lawyer may charge the currently listed $45 fee for an initial consultation of up to 30 minutes.

Questions to ask before hiring a criminal lawyer

Who will personally appear in court?
What does the written fee agreement include?
Are investigation and expert costs separate?
How are urgent jail calls handled?
How will court dates and updates be sent?
What records should the family collect?
Avoid guaranteed outcomes: No lawyer or bond company can guarantee release, dismissal, acquittal or a particular sentence.

Personal statewide record

How to Request Your Own Nevada Criminal History

Nevada does not provide a general public website where anyone can search another person’s complete statewide criminal history by name. Individuals can request their own Nevada record through the Nevada State Police Records, Communications and Compliance Division.

Open the official criminal-history request page Use the Nevada Criminal History Records Request page.
Choose electronic or manual submission The electronic route is available from inside Nevada. Out-of-state requests use the manual process.
Follow the fingerprint instructions Use the current request process and ensure the fingerprint card and identification information are complete.
Pay the fee shown by the current system Do not rely on an old third-party fee table. Confirm payment instructions on the live state page.
Review the returned Nevada record Compare names, dates, arresting agencies, charges and court outcomes.
Use the challenge process for an error The official page links to the Nevada Criminal History Challenge form when information is inaccurate or incomplete.
Nevada records only

The state request does not provide records from other states or an FBI criminal-history report.

When to Use the Nevada Department of Corrections Search

NDOC generally holds people who have received a Nevada state-prison sentence. It does not provide ordinary current information for people recently arrested and awaiting trial in a Las Vegas-area jail.

Search by offender ID

Use the offender ID when available for the most precise result.

Search by demographics

The NDOC portal also accepts first and last name searches with wildcard options.

Custody alerts

Register for Nevada S.A.V.E. Custody Notifications

Nevada S.A.V.E. is the current statewide custody-notification service offered by the Nevada Office of the Attorney General. It replaced Nevada’s former VINE custody-notification system in August 2025.

Search and register online

Use save.nv.gov to find an eligible custody record and choose notification methods.

Telephone help

The statewide S.A.V.E. service number is 866-393-5445.

Use it as part of a safety plan

Notification data can change and should not replace emergency planning or direct agency confirmation.

Registration remains useful: The S.A.V.E. site explains that a person no longer in custody may not appear in search results, but an existing notification registration can remain active if that person later returns to custody.
Record relief

How to Begin Sealing a Las Vegas Criminal Record

Nevada record sealing is a court process. Eligibility, waiting periods, agencies involved and the required petition depend on the case and outcome.

Collect every case number Search the relevant Justice, Municipal and District Court records. A person may have cases in more than one court.
Obtain your Nevada criminal history Use the official Nevada State Police personal-record request so the petition addresses the correct entries.
Check the applicable waiting period Waiting periods differ by offense and outcome. Some records may not qualify.
Use the correct court process File with the court that has authority over the case and use its current forms and instructions.
Serve or submit the required agencies Follow the court’s process for the prosecutor, arresting agency and Nevada criminal-history repository.
Verify the final update After the signed sealing order is processed, recheck court and state records before asking a private website to update its page.
State sealing information

Nevada State Police sealing guidance explains the effect of a court-ordered seal.

District Court forms

The Eighth Judicial District Court form library provides current court forms for self-represented users and attorneys.

Sealing is not website deletion: A signed court order restricts official dissemination under Nevada law. A separate request may still be needed to update an old private webpage or search-engine result.
Troubleshooting

Why a Las Vegas Inmate or Court Search Shows No Result

The arrest is still being booked
The person is in a city facility rather than CCDC
The person was booked as John or Jane Doe
The surname or alias was entered differently
The person is under 18 or in protective custody
The person was released or transferred
The court case has not yet been filed or indexed
The record is sealed or otherwise restricted
Arrest happened a few hours ago

Call the arresting agency and CCDC. Ask whether identity and intake processing are complete.

CCDC shows no result

Search the City of Las Vegas, North Las Vegas and Henderson detention systems based on the arrest location.

The person disappeared from the roster

Ask whether the person was released, transferred, taken to court, moved to NDOC or held by another jurisdiction.

No court case appears

Confirm the exact court. An arrest can occur before the prosecuting agency files the case.

Bail was paid but release is delayed

Ask about additional cases, warrants, holds, identification problems and unfinished release processing.

Third-party information conflicts

Use the official jail and court as the controlling sources, save evidence and request a correction.
