Police, jail and court records are held by different agencies.
How to Search King County Arrest Records by Name

Use King County’s own jail search instead of a commercial people-search page.
Select in-custody subjects, booked in the last 24 hours or released in the last 24 hours.
Try the surname first. Review spelling, middle names and preferred-name fields.
Confirm the facility, arresting agency, booking number, booking date and UCN.
The book-of-arrest number is needed for bail, mail, money and other jail services.

How to Pay Bail at a King County Jail
King County jails accept bail on behalf of courts. Bail can be paid at the reception window of either adult jail between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m., seven days a week.
Use the subject record and court case. Ask whether another case or hold may block release.
Find the book-of-arrest number in Subject Lookup before preparing payment.

Make a cashier’s check or money order payable to King County Department of Adult and Juvenile Detention.
Add the jailed person’s name, B/A number, and the sender’s name and address.
Checks and money orders require verification, which may delay release.

How to Challenge an Incorrect Washington Criminal Record
Keep the B/A number, UCN, case number, report number and URLs.
A jail record, police report, court docket and Washington State Patrol criminal history are maintained separately.
Ask the jail, police agency or court about its correction process and supporting documents.
Washington State Patrol allows people to inspect and challenge criminal-history information that refers to them.
Washington commonly uses terms such as vacate or seal. Eligibility and forms depend on the court and conviction.
After the official record is corrected, send the exact URL and redacted official proof to the publisher.

King County Arrest Records FAQs
How do I search King County WA arrest records by name?
Open King County’s official Subject Lookup Tool and choose the in-custody, booked-in-last-24-hours or released-in-last-24-hours view. Search the person’s legal or preferred name, then confirm the facility, arresting agency, booking number, booking date and UCN.
What is King County’s official jail lookup?

What is a King County B/A number?
The B/A number is the book-of-arrest or booking number assigned to the person’s jail record. Save it from Subject Lookup because King County uses it for bail payments, mail, deposits and other custody services.
How do I know whether someone is in the Seattle or Kent jail?
Open the person’s Subject Lookup record and read the facility field. King County Correctional Facility is at 500 Fifth Avenue in Seattle, while the Maleng Regional Justice Center jail is at 620 W. James Street in Kent.
How can I pay bail for someone in a King County jail?
Bail may be paid at either adult jail reception window from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week. King County accepts cash, cashier’s check or money order. Cashier’s checks and money orders must be payable to King County Department of Adult and Juvenile Detention and include the person’s name, B/A number, and sender’s name and address.
Where do I search a King County criminal court case?
Use KC Script for King County Superior Court, the District Court e-Filing and Case Access portal for King County District Court, and the relevant Municipal Court portal for a city case. Seattle Municipal Court has its own public case-search portal.
How do I qualify for a King County public defender?
Call the Department of Public Defense screening line at 206-477-9727, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. A screener will review financial information to determine eligibility. No appointment is required.
Can I visit someone in a King County jail?
Yes. Limited in-person visitation is available at KCCF in Seattle and MRJC in Kent, but schedules and limits differ by facility and housing unit. Confirm the facility, call 206-296-1234 for the assigned time and bring valid government-issued picture identification.
Why is the person not in King County Subject Lookup?
The booking may still be processing, the person may be under 18, released, held at SCORE or a city jail, transferred to Washington DOC, or in federal custody. Check the arresting agency and use the appropriate official roster before concluding that the person was released.
How do I request an older King County arrest or jail record?
Request a Sheriff incident record from the King County Sheriff Public Disclosure Unit when KCSO handled the incident. Request an incarceration record from DAJD through King County GovQA.
