Warrant-payment scam

DCSO will not ask for gift cards, credit cards or payment instead of arrest.

Someone demanded money to cancel a warrant or prevent arrest?

Do not pay. Douglas County states that deputies may advise someone about a warrant but will never request payment in lieu of arrest. Call the Sheriff’s non-emergency line at 303-660-7505 using a number you obtained independently.

Confirm the arresting agency

Ask whether the arrest was made by Douglas County Sheriff, Castle Rock Police, Parker Police, Lone Tree Police, Colorado State Patrol or another agency.

Allow the jail to complete intake

A person may arrive before the public inquiry shows the finished booking. Search again later or call Booking at 303-660-7550.

Open the official Inmate Inquiry

Compare the complete name, identifying details, Global ID, booking time, charging authority and all active cases.

Check whether more than one bond applies

Douglas County explains that a person can have a separate bond for each case. Paying one bond may not satisfy another hold.

Find the first appearance

The Sheriff says most arrestees with a no-bond hold attend a first court appearance at approximately 9:00 a.m. on the next business day.

Do not promise an exact release time

Release can be delayed by another agency hold, multiple cases, court paperwork, identity verification or normal processing.

Bond types explained

Bond type
What it generally means
Important caution
PR / Personal Recognizance
Release is based on the defendant’s signature rather than an upfront payment.
The person may become liable for the amount after failing to appear.
PR-Cosign / PR-Surety
A co-signer promises the defendant will return to court.
The co-signer may become financially responsible after nonappearance.
Cash / Cash-Surety
The full amount is paid using an accepted method.
The court may forfeit the funds when the defendant fails to appear.
Surety Bond
A licensed bond agent posts the bond.
The agent generally charges a non-refundable fee and may require collateral.
Property Bond
Real estate secures the bond through the Court Clerk.
Property bonds cannot simply be completed through the jail vendor.
No Bond / Zero Bond
The person cannot post money until a judge sets a bond.
Another agency may also control a no-bond hold or later transport.
Colorado fee protection: The Sheriff’s current page states that bond fees, booking fees and other debts do not have to be paid to secure release on a money bond. The payer needs to pay the bond amount required for release. Confirm the current instructions on the live bond page.
Do not rely on one displayed amount. A person may have separate bonds for several cases. Release may also be delayed by another agency hold, court conditions or normal processing after payment.
23rd Judicial District

Find Douglas County Criminal Court Dates and Case Records

Douglas County is served by Colorado’s 23rd Judicial District. Use the court docket for hearings and the official court record for the disposition rather than relying only on jail charges.

Open the Colorado docket search

Go to the official docket page. A date and at least one additional filter are required.

Select Douglas County

Choose Douglas County, the 23rd Judicial District or Douglas County Courthouse as the location filter.

Add the strongest identifier

Use the case number when available. Otherwise add the party name, division, court type or courthouse.

Confirm every hearing detail

Check the name, case number, division, courtroom, date and time. Save the result or take a screenshot for reference.

Use the Douglas County court page

The official Douglas County court page contains courthouse, self-help and local docket links.

Call the clerk when information conflicts

Contact the courthouse at 720-437-6200. The court—not the jail or a private website—controls hearing dates.

Trying to resolve a missed-court warrant? Douglas County says many failure-to-appear warrants must be resolved in person at the First Appearance Center. Checking in before 8:00 a.m. may improve the chance of seeing a judge that day, but the FAC does not set hearing times by phone.
Records request

Request Douglas County Booking, Jail and Arrest Records

DCSO accepts electronic, in-person, mail and substation requests. Choose the correct route because general case reports and jail or medical records use different contact numbers.

Open the online records portal

Start from the official Records Requests page and select the electronic portal.

Select “Jail Records Request” when applicable

Use this category for booking, charging, housing, probable-cause or other jail records.

Provide specific details

Include the full name, DOB, date range, incident location, case number and exact document or media requested.

Watch for receipt confirmation

The Sheriff says staff will contact requesters within 72 business hours to verify receipt.

Colorado record sealing

Check Whether a Douglas County Arrest Record Can Be Sealed

Colorado uses different procedures for arrests without charges, non-conviction records, eligible convictions, automatic sealing and juvenile matters.

Obtain the official court disposition

Use the court case—not a private mugshot page—to confirm whether charges were filed, dismissed or resolved.

Open Colorado Judicial’s sealing guide

Use the official Seal My Case resource.

Select the correct case category

Choose the arrest, non-conviction, conviction, automatic-sealing or juvenile route that matches the official outcome.

Use the linked forms and filing instructions

Review filing location, notice requirements, fees and waiting periods before submitting.

Request private-site correction afterward

Once the official process is complete, submit the exact page URL and redacted court documentation through this site’s content-removal policy and contact page.

Removal is not sealing. Deleting one private listing does not change the Sheriff, CBI or court record.
